Yes, I want my free trial! At Going Up Education, we love blasting off. That’s why we’re excited to launch our new Level 5 advanced English course that will lift your online language lessons to new heights! While most of our ESL lessons include grammar explanations and exercises, we have cut these from the new Level 5 “Lift Off” lessons. Instead, Level 5 focuses on arming your students with an advanced English vocabulary and the confidence to use it during lots of English speaking practice. In each unit, students will read a nine chapter story to practice their new vocabulary and hone their reading comprehension skills. We even left some space for writing practice at the end of every other lesson. Work on the “Think Big” prompts together in class, or assign them as homework! You pick!

A Quick Note on Grammar in the Level 5 Advanced English Course:
Most of our more advanced English students request vocabulary building or speaking practice lessons. The Level 5 advanced English course is crafting especially for them! Level 5 lessons are focused on improving reading, reading comprehension, vocabulary, speaking, and writing skills.
We know that learning grammar is important too, so we’ve designed our lessons to be flexible to meet the needs of individual learners and teachers. We encourage teachers to work on grammar as needed throughout the lessons, in a way that supports and enhances the overall learning experience.
During the vocabulary slides, teachers can work on grammar as needed while crafting the student sentences. Teachers can also edit the student writing homework to check their grammar progress.
Pacing in Level 5 - Advanced English Course
As an online ESL teacher, you know that pacing is everything when it comes to teaching a successful lesson. That’s why we’ve designed our Level 5 Advanced English Course lessons to be packed with as much content as possible, so you don’t have to worry about running out of material during class.
But we also know that every class is different, so we’ve built in plenty of flexibility for teachers to customize the lessons for each student. You can choose to skip certain vocabulary words or writing assignments, and you don’t have to complete all discussion questions if you don’t have time. The main goal of these lessons is that your student walks away with a few new vocabulary words in their toolbox after lots of chatting!
Whether you prefer to extend further using the pictures or ask comprehension questions after each page of the story, you can adjust the length of each class to flow with your own teaching style. Depending on your students’ abilities, the two lessons provided in each chapter could be condensed into a single lesson or be broken up into four separate lessons.
So, when preparing for your Level 5 Advanced English Course lessons, remember to bring your own unique teaching style, and don’t be afraid to switch it up!
